As I walk the neighborhood, canvassing and meeting fellow citizens the overwhelming concern from our community is around the increase in property taxes. I've spoken with families that have lived in their home for 40 years or more and will no longer be able to afford to live there. As a fellow neighbor and community member this is concerning and as your County Commissioner I will advocate for you.
I am your candidate committed to cutting property taxes, stopping government spending waste, and creating an open and transparent government.
A clear example of what I stand to fight against is the Juvenile Justice Center project. Commissioned by the board, this project caused a significant property tax increase, included no-bid contracts, and proceeded without a public vote. Decisions like this have spurred me to run for the County Board. I oppose this type of wasteful spending and am dedicated to bringing common sense back to the County Board.
